Home-made croquettes with Casademont fuet

Croquettes are an ideal snack or tapa for get-togethers with family and friends. Everybody loves croquettes and everybody loves fuet. But the combination of fuet and croquettes is even better!

And even more so when they are home-made!

So we are going to teach you to prepare some delicious fuet with green pepper croquettes using a recipe by Prueba y Opina.

To prepare it, you will need:

· 1 onion

· 1 clove of garlic

· 1 cup of meat stock

· Casademont Fuet with green pepper

· 1 meat stock cube

· 100 g flour

· Eggs, for egg wash

· Flour

· Breadcrumbs

· Olive oil

Preparation:

First of all, start by frying up the onion and garlic, all finely chopped, to make what is known as a sofrito. Add a drizzle of olive oil and leave to soften.

Dice the fuet into very small pieces, add to the frying pan with the sofrito and sauté.

When it is done, add the flour and stir well. Add the beef stock and beef stock cube and stir continuously for 15 or 20 minutes on a gentle simmer. You will see that the mixture thickens slowly.

It is ready when the centre of the frying pan comes out clean as a spatula is “sliced” through the middle of the thickened mixture.

Leave to cool in the fridge for a few hours.

Once the mixture is cold, wet your hands with oil and take portions of the croquette mixture. Shape with your hands. Coat in flour, then egg and finally in the breadcrumbs. In the final step, they are fried in hot oil. Now they are ready to enjoy!
